Director's View

Another year of school will soon be over for our children and the summer stretches out with many possibilities.  With gas prices heading out of sight, I foresee our libraries being even busier places as parents and kids look for free, quality programming and entertainment that is close to home.  One community member that I spoke with last week referred to the phenomenon as a “staycation” (staying nearby for family fun and summer entertainment), as opposed to a vacation.  Our Summer Reading Program begins June 9th with activities happening in every branch every week.  Sign up your entire family and take advantage of a treasure that is close to home, free, and good for you.  Find other great programs and local events on our community calendar at www.gosaginaw.com.  Enjoy your “staycation” this summer!
